1. Who We Are

UnPhiltered Trivia LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the UnPhiltered Trivia platform at play.unphilteredtrivia.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

2. Information We Collect

Hosts (account holders)

  • Name and email address (at signup)
  • Google account information if you sign in with Google
  • Google OAuth token to access your Google Drive documents (only when you initiate a doc import)
  • Profile logo if uploaded
  • Billing information — processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store card numbers
  • Game data you create: rounds, questions, answers, venues, scores

Players (game participants)

  • Team name chosen at join
  • Answers submitted during a game
  • Score and placement data

Players do not create accounts. No email or identity information is collected from players.

Automatically collected

  • Basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained by our infrastructure provider (Vercel)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To operate live trivia games you create and run
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe
  • To import Google Docs content at your explicit request
  • To send transactional emails (email confirmation, billing receipts) via Resend
  • To respond to support requests you send us

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting (data stored in US region)
  • Vercel — application hosting and edge network
  • Stripe — payment processing; subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Google — OAuth login and Google Drive document import (only when you choose to use these features)

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We only share data with them to the extent necessary to provide the Service.

5. Google OAuth and Drive Access

If you sign in with Google or use the Google Drive import feature, we request read-only access to your Google Drive and Docs. We use this solely to fetch the document you specify for import. We store your Google access token to enable this feature without requiring you to re-authorize on each use. We do not access, read, or store any Google Drive content beyond the specific document you choose to import.

You can revoke our Google access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Game data (questions, answers, scores) is retained indefinitely to support your game history and leaderboards. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your game data

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for hosts who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Players participating in games do not provide personal information beyond a team name. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting via Supabase, and OAuth-based authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
